We are pleased to introduce Christopher Barnett.
Chris is a Senior Associate Attorney in the Dallas, Texas office of Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP, a global immigration law firm. He provides strategic guidance to corporate clients on risk mitigation and policy interpretation with an eye towards seamless employee mobility. Chris represents these clients on complex U.S. business immigration matters before the U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Department of State in addition to providing counsel regarding immigration compliance, program management, and corporate reorganizations.
A strong risk mitigator and policy interpreter for large global mobility clients, Chris’ experience in law is diverse. He has served as an Associate Attorney at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy where he prepared and filed employment based nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions with various federal agencies, as a Law Clerk for Lubin & Meyer, PC; and has interned at the Essex County Juvenile Court, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, and the House of Commons, which is the lower house of the bicameral British Parliament.
During his college years, he researched and drafted legal codes and contracts for federally recognized tribes in Massachusetts for the Indian Law and Indigenous People’s Clinic at Suffolk Law School, reviewed and edited scholarly article citations for publication for Suffolk’s Journal of High Technology Law at Suffolk Law School, and assisted U.S. armed forces veterans with civil legal needs as an Advocate at the Shelter Legal Services.
He holds a BSBA in Entrepreneurship from Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School, and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.
Chris is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and enjoys providing pro bono counsel to individuals and families. He was recently honored and recognized by his peers in the legal community. He was named in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America, and is an avid AC Milan fan.
